Bloomquist Lemonade produces vibrant 6-inch yellow blooms on sturdy 5-foot plants, making it an excellent choice for garden displays and cut arrangements. This semi-cactus dahlia develops a distinctive lacinated form as it matures, adding textural interest and visual depth. Its reliable growth habit and extended bloom season deliver consistent color throughout summer and fall.
How To Plant Dahlias
To get your dahlias started, pick a sunny spot with soil that drains well. Dig a hole, lay the tuber flat, and cover it with soil about 3 inches deep. Hold off on watering for now. Once you spot some sprouts and a few leaves, it’s time to water, but keep it gentle to prevent root rot. It’s a smart to put the stake next to the tuber at the same time of planting, so you don’t accidentally damage it later on.
As the season goes on, give your dahlias some love with fertilizer and insect sprays to help them bloom beautifully and grow strong. In the fall, dig up the roots and store them over winter.
